Single-Mode vs Multi-Mode Fiber for LED Wall Systems
Single-mode fiber suits long runs between buildings or venues, while OM3 multi-mode fiber is suited to shorter in-venue runs with cost-effective optics. The TPU-Armour range includes single-mode 9/125 micron fiber for 1310–1550 nm and OM3-300 multi-mode 50/125 micron fiber for 850–1300 nm. Available configurations have 2 to 12 cores, with core count determined by the number of signals needed. LC connectors are standard, while SC and ST connectors can be customized. DuPont Kevlar reinforcement, a metal weave, and a SUS201 stainless steel spiral tube sit under a 5.0 mm TPU jacket designed for touring and rental conditions.
